A serious collision has forced the closure of the M11 motorway in both directions between Stansted Airport and Harlow this morning, causing major disruption for commuters.
The M11 motorway is experiencing severe disruption after a serious crash involving a car and motorcycle this morning, according to traffic monitoring site INRIX.
The website says: "M11 Southbound blocked, long delays due to accident, a Car and a Motorcycle involved from J9 (Saffron Walden) to J8 A120 Thremhall Avenue (Bishops Stortford).
The incident occurred at 4.46am on the southbound carriageway near Stansted Airport, sparking a huge emergency response including an air ambulance, which landed on the northbond section.
Essex Police are leading the response, with National Highways implementing diversions between Junction 8 (Stansted) and Junction 7A (Harlow).
