Francisca Mora Veny, the mayor of Porreres, claims that Meghan’s new lifestyle brand logo is practically identical to the town’s coat of arms.
The mayor also appeared to question Markle’s inspiration for the image, adding: “I don't know if she visited some agritourism sites and saw the coat of arms, because the photo on her website is taken from Mallorca.”.
The Spanish coat of arms, believed to be more than 600 years old, similarly includes a palm tree between two birds in a crest-like frame.
Speaking to The Sun, Ms Mora Veny expressed her surprise at spotting such similarities between the two images and said that she plans on asking Meghan to have the logo removed.
“The only difference with their logo and our coat of arms is that theirs shows two hummingbirds and in ours are either swallows or pigeons — historians cannot agree.
