Man and woman die in horror fire as blaze tears through home Two elderly people have died following a house fire on a residential street in a Welsh town.
"Following a joint investigation by Gwent Police and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the cause of the fire is not suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
Officers attended along with teams from the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Wales Air Ambulance and Welsh Ambulance Service.".
A spokesman for Gwent Police said: "We were called to a report of a house fire in Adam Street, Abertillery, at around 7.55am on Sunday (February 9).
Detective Inspector Steve Davies said: "We can confirm that a man and a woman, both in their nineties, have died at the scene of the fire.
