Man City ready to complete blockbuster TRIPLE transfer deal to transform season

Manchester City are banking on a triple transfer deal to save their stuttering season. City have endured an awful campaign losing six Premier League games to sit sixth in the table, 12 points adrift of leaders Liverpool. They were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the last-16 stage and are at serious risk of failing to progress beyond the league phase of the Champions League.
Boss Pep Guardiola's squad has been creaking under a mountain of injury issues, with many of his top players aging badly this term. City are expected to invest heavily in the January window in a bid to turn their fortunes around. And Guardiola appears to have already found his first three signings of the winter window. The trio cover the two areas of the pitch where City are most in need of reinforcements.

That starts in defence with BBC Sport reporting City are targeting Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis. City's director of football Txiki Begiristain is determined signings should fit the club's long term plan, with Khusanov and Reis checking that box.
Khusanov is a central defender for French club Lens and the Uzbekistan national team. The 20-year-old was part of the Uzbek side that won the Under-20 Asian Cup, bringing him to the attention of clubs in the major European leagues. If he signed for City, he would become the first-ever player from his country to play in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Reis has been a key player for Brazilian side Palmeiras and was recently named in the country's Team of the Year.
