Man dies after fire breaks out at west London care home

A man has died after a fire broke out at a care home in west London. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a residential care home on Elgin Close in Shepherd’s Bush on Tuesday. Half of a first-floor flat was damaged by the fire.
A man was found in the flat, and sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Two further people were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service and taken to hospital. Control Officers took the first of 11 calls at 2.45pm and mobilised crews from Hammersmith, Chiswick and Kensington fire stations to the scene.
