Manchester City are closing in on a replacement for Kyle Walker, who looks set to depart the club this month. Mail Sport exclusively revealed that Pep Guardiola had left the 32-year-old at home ahead of the 2-2 draw with Brentford after the defender asked to leave the club.
Both Milan clubs are vying for his services and Mail Sport understands that any loan agreement could end in a two-year permanent deal at its conclusion. The impending exit for a first-team regular necessitates a replacement, and according to Sky Italia, City are closing in on Juventus full back Andrea Cambiaso.
The 24-year-old, who has been capped 13 times by the Azzurri, has been a mainstay in Thiago Motta's side this term. His only absence from the line-up was as a result of an ankle injury ahead of a December draw with Venezia. Cambiaso has mainly been fielded in a left back role for the Old Lady, though he is also capable of playing on the right side of defence as well as in more attacking positions on that flank.

The report out of Italy claims that City are preparing a bid in the region of £50 -£55million for the defender. Should City get the deal over the line, he would be yet another arrival at the Etihad in the January transfer window as the club look to salvage their disappointing season.
