Ruben Amorim's Manchester United have lost five games in all competitions since he warned his players they would face a "storm" and could be "found out" this season. United's dismal season hit a new low on Boxing Day as they were beaten 2-0 by Wolves at Molineux and finished the game with ten men after Bruno Fernandes ' sending off. Amorim has now lost five of his first ten matches - the first United manager to lose that many of his opening games for 92 years - and he faces a huge uphill task to restore the club to its former glory.

The ex-Sporting Lisbon coach can perhaps consider himself something of a fortune teller. He predicted his side would soon suffer a tough period, but surely could not have believed it would come this soon. Earlier this month, after their resounding 4-0 win over Everton, he claimed there would be a "storm" that his team would have to be ready for. Since his comments, United have gone on to lose to Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham, Bournemouth and Wolves.

"I would like to say different things, but I have to say it again, the storm will come," Amorim told the media at the time. "I don't know if you use that expression, but we are going to have difficult moments, and we will be found out in some games. "I know that because I know my players and I know football and I follow football. We are in the point in that we are putting simple things in the team, without training.".

Wolves wrapped up a vital win over United thanks to goals from Matheus Cunha, who scored directly from a corner, and Hwang Hee-chan. Amorim insisted he wasn't as concerned with United's performance despite being dealt another defeat, saying he was happy with how United controlled the game.
