Maya Jama pokes fun at Macy Gray's iconic diva strop on The Masked Singer

Maya Jama has playfully mocked Macy Gray after she sensationally stormed off the set of The Masked Singer. Love Island host Maya, 30, joined the panel of ITV's madcap family gameshow this year - replacing Rita Ora who departed the UK panel to become a judge over the Atlantic on the American version of the show. Fireworks flew on Saturday night when Toad in the Hole lost a sing off against Bear.
But rather than accept their fate and remove their mask, Toad stormed off the set - leaving show host Joel Dommett and the panel of judges stunned. They eventually returned and removed the extravagant headpiece to show 57-year-old I Try icon Macy underneath.
Macy has gone viral for her diva stunt, however, and now Maya has poked fun at the incident too. Taking to social media on Sunday, she uploaded a clip of the infamous moment to TikTok and Instagram Stories. Suggesting she too storms off at the first sign of trouble, she captioned the iconic moment by writing: "Me at any minor inconvenience". When host Joel announced that Toad in the Hole was the third celebrity to be going home, the I've Committed Murder star didn't stay around for the customary reveal and instead walked off set.
A source who was at the show recording told The Sun that the singer was "totally blindsided", revealing: "When Macy stormed off stage everyone was frozen in shock but as soon as she reached backstage, crew removed her mask so they could talk her down," the insider claimed.
"Macy was almost shellshocked to start with and was basically gutted to be out so early because she really enjoyed being on the American version - when obviously she did brilliantly - so was totally blindsided. It was the shock of it for her as well as the upset and in that moment she had a very raw, human reaction and wanted out.".
