Michael McIntyre is due to return to TV screens with a new series of his BBC show, Michael McIntyre's Big Show, and he's given fans a glimpse of what to expect. The hit programme will be back on Saturday 18 January on BBC One. Ahead of the new series, the comedian appeared on The One Show on Friday (17 January) to chat to hosts Roman Kemp and Clara Amfo about what's in store. He revealed there will be another round of his famous The Midnight Game Show, which sees Michael sneak into celebrities' houses in the middle of night for an unexpected game show.
Two of the celebrities set to appear on the upcoming instalment of The Midnight Game Show are Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott. Michael admitted that breaking into the pair's London home was trickier than expected, as they had a lock on their bedroom door. A scary incident then occurred as the comedian scared Zara and Sam in the middle of the night.
"It's obviously a risk, a risk that backfired. Because, unbeknownst to anyone, they have an internal lock in the bedroom. Who has an internal lock on their bedroom door?!" he told Roman and Clara. Michael continued: "So, I got all the way to the door and it's locked. The door is locked, I can't get in. Then, I can hear them freaking out because they start to get a sense that there's people outside the bedroom. And they are totally freaking out. They eventually opened the door.".
Sharing details of a moment which won't air during his BBC show, Michael added: "It's not in the show, and I probably shouldn't be saying it, but he had a weapon. Yes, I could've died that night on the Midnight Game Show, at the hands of Sam Thompson!".
