Michael McIntyre has opened up about a major change to his Big Show. The variety series, which was first broadcast in 2015, is set to return for its eighth season this Saturday (January 18) on BBC One. Ahead of its premiere, Michael has teased what viewers can expect from the upcoming episodes, which include a "hilarious" new item.

"The big news is that we have a new item called Remember Me, where a celebrity sits in the Royal Box and a person from any time in their past appears on stage," he said. The famous face must then attempt to guess how they know the mystery guest. "It could be anyone from the midwife who birthed them, to a holiday romance or the driver who bought them to the theatre," Michael continued. "I play it with Miranda Hart, Alan Carr and Holly Willoughby with hilarious results.".

The "jam-packed" series also sees the return of Send to All, with Judi Love, Tony Bellew and Michael Sheen handing over the mobile phones. Zara McDermott and Sam Thompson will both be surprised to feature in the Midnight Gameshow, which was filmed before their reported split. Josh Widdicombe is also set to be disturbed during the night to answer a series of wacky questions.

"Sam and Zara's Midnight Gameshow was a highlight too as they had locked their bedroom door from the inside! So, I couldn't get in!" Michael explained. "They were terrified as I had to knock on the door - but thankfully they then had the time of their lives.".

The Wheel on Wheels van is also back on the road, with the crew driving through Birmingham to find someone watching the gameshow live. Instead, Michael comes across an Indian takeaway restaurant playing The Wheel on TV, so the customers were given the opportunity to win their food and prizes.
