Middlesbrough are in talks to sign Samuel Iling-Junior from Aston Villa. The 21-year-old wing-back is to cut short his loan at Bologna after their game on Saturday night and is set to travel for a medical. Boro are also trying to beat Celtic to former Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho in a loan deal from Sevilla. Iheanacho was due to join Venezia this week but changed his mind Leeds had also looked at a possible loan.
Villa signed Iling-Junior from Juventus last summer before loaning him out to Bologna. Iling-Junior has made just seven appearances for Bologna in Serie A this season. Middlesbrough are in talks with Aston Villa over the signing of Samuel Iling-Junior. Boro are also trying to beat Celtic to former Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho. Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick is eager to add to his team's options before the deadline.
He scored against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League last month. During his time at Juventus Iling-Junior won the Coppa Italia last season. Iheanacho started his senior career at Manchester City, for whom he scored 21 goals in 64 games. A move to Leicester followed in 2017 and he made 232 appearances for the Foxes, scoring 61 times. This season he has scored three goals in eleven matches for Sevilla.
Middlesbrough are currently in seventh place in the Premier League as they look to secure a spot in the play-offs. So far this month Middlesbrough have brought in Morgan Whittaker from Plymouth and George Edmundson from Ipswich. Defender Ryan Giles and goalkeeper Mark Travers have arrived on loan from Hull and Bournemouth respectively. Iheanacho started his senior career at Manchester City before signing for Leicester.
