This is the first picture of a dad of two who died after a ‘speeding’ BMW ploughed into his car on his commute to work. Sivaranjan Sivakumaran, 47, from Hayes, west London, died at the scene of the collision in the early hours of Monday morning in Northolt.
The huge impact was described by witnesses as ‘like a bomb going off’ while ‘utter carnage’ followed with debris strewn over 50 metres across Ruislip Road. Kamil Roubiah, 25, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving on Tuesday. He is due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates Court.
Police previously said the BMW had been spotted before the collision by a patrol which suspected the vehicle was exceeding the speed limit. The victim’s brother-in-law Savalingham Steevansan, 39, told Metro the family was ‘devastated’ after the death shortly after Mr Sivakumaran left for his commute in his Ford Focus to a warehouse where he worked as a forklift driver.
Mr Steevansan said: ‘He was a loving family man and we are all devastated. He was going to work, he was a hard worker and a lovely man. He has two boys aged 18 and 14. We are trying to understand how this happened. We want answers from the police.’.
Rouibah, of Marlow Bortom, Buckinghamshire, is also charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop for police. A second man, aged 25, who was arrested following the collision has been released with no further action. Carl Clement, 33, told Metro: ‘I heard a huge smash and like scraping metal. I didn’t see the impact but the aftermath was utter carnage. There were bits of cars all over the road and smoke. It was like something in a film. It does not surprise me that someone died.’.
