Eric Christian Olsen, best known for his role as Special Agent Marty Deeks on NCIS LA, may have left the show but he's far from idle. NCIS Los Angeles enjoyed 14 successful seasons before its surprising cancellation, following in the unfortunate demise of spin-offs like NCIS New Orleans and the short-lived NCIS Hawaii, fans are eager to learn what their beloved stars are up to post-show. In a new venture, Olsen is now flexing his muscles behind the scenes as an executive producer for CBS's reboot of the legal drama Matlock, with Kathy Bates in the lead.

The show's initial success, which consists of two Golden Globe nods, has secured a second season renewal earlier this year. But that’s not all that's keeping Olsen preoccupied; he also jumped onto the board of directors for the charitable organisation Every Day Action, dedicated to slashing food waste by salvaging leftover food from markets and film/TV sets. Celebrating his contribution, a message on Every Day Action's official Instagram declared: "He [Olsen] has helped facilitate many major moments for us over the past few years and always brings our food reallocation program to his productions in Los Angeles whether he is working in front of the camera or behind it.

"Thank you Eric for helping us help others and for being such a champion of our work.". Tragedy struck Olsen and his family at the start of 2025 when their $1.35 million three-bedroom home in Pacific Palisades was ravaged by the LA wildfires. Fortunately, Olsen's wife, Sarah Wright, co-founder of Your Zen Mama, revealed that they managed to evacuate safely with their three young children after detecting the smoke while recording an episode of her parenting podcast, The Mother Daze.

The family of five found refuge at the home of Olsen's brother, David Paul Olsen, and sister-in-law, Daniela Ruah, who played his on-screen wife, Kensi Blye, on NCIS LA. In an emotional Instagram post, Sarah shared, 'It's impossible to put into words these last few days. We are together and safe and surrounded by love. "'We lost our home. It was one of the first areas to go. Our kids have said 'we all took our first steps there.'.

"It's so hard to say goodbye to our gorgeous town, our special school, and this place we have loved for 13 years. “But we are so so grateful we are together and for the outpouring of love.”. Other celebrities who have lost their homes in the wildfires include Paris Hilton, Anthony Hopkins, Jennifer Grey, Matt Damon, Billy Crystal, and Anna Faris.
