Newcastle set to accept Atlanta United's £10m offer for out-of-favour winger Miguel Almiron... with Magpies unlikely to sign a replacement despite Harvey Barnes' injury

Newcastle are set to accept Atlanta United’s offer totalling £10million for Miguel Almiron with a move now expected to be finalised, Mail Sport understands. However, the club have rejected an offer north of £6m from Fenerbahce for defender Lloyd Kelly and movement on that deal is less likely.
Almiron , 30, is said to be keen on a return to his former club and talks will accelerate this week, ending a six-year stay on Tyneside. But we understand Newcastle are unlikely to sign a replacement and that would leave the squad short in wide areas, given the injury to Harvey Barnes. He is facing a month on the sidelines with a thigh strain.
Kelly, meanwhile, is the subject of interest from Fenerbahce but the Turkish club would have to return with an offer well in excess of their opening proposal for Newcastle to consider a sale, and the club do not expect that to happen. Eddie Howe’s side are up to fourth in the Premier League after a sixth straight win during Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over Wolves.
