DANCE TIME (3.22, Nap) has found a winning rhythm and can land the Weekly 5 Free Bet With BetUK Handicap at Southwell on Tuesday. The five-year-old, trained by David Loughnane, comes into this 2m½f contest in cracking form. He followed up victory at Wolverhampton in November with two third places back at the Midlands track before winning last time out over Tuesday’s course and distance just after Christmas. Held up under Richard Kingscote, the son of Time Test made smooth headway before taking the lead a furlong out and keeping on well to comfortably hold off C’Mon Kenny by one and a quarter lengths. A 2lb rise for that win looks lenient and my selection is fancied to go in again.
WATER OF LEITH (4.45, nb) is expected to make a splash at Newcastle by winning the 30 In Free Bets With BetUk Handicap over five furlongs. Jim Goldie’s son of Kodiac won over this course and distance 12 days ago in the hands of Tuesday’s jockey Paul Mulrennan, when coming with a wet sail to win a seven-runner handicap by three-quarters of a length from Thunder Star.
