NINTENDO announced the Switch 2 last year and told fans that they’d get their first look at the upcoming console before the end of the financial year. That means we should see the first announcement trailer before the end of March 2025, but people think it will be coming sooner rather than later.

This is because the number of leaks and rumours have been ramping up, and some of them are more reliable than others. An image of the supposed Switch 2 motherboard has been circulating the internet but the origins of the images are unknown. However, it does feature an Nvidia chip, which lines up with what we already know about the upcoming console and Nintendo’s partnerships.

The PCB also features a USB-C port on the top and bottom of the console, which would allow players to charge and dock the console both ways. This also lines up with supposed images of the Switch 2 shell that circulated previously. The other interesting images that have been seen online are the supposed new Joy-Con that first showed up on Chinese social media.

These Joy-Con images also line up with previous rumours, such as that they will attach to the console using magnets rather than rails. This means that the Joy-Con could be able to attack to the side of the console rather than sliding them up and down. While they are supposedly the same thickness as the Nintendo Switch 1 Joy-Con, the images show a black outer shell and the classic blue and red only behind the sticks and where they attach to the console.
