Pep Guardiola's dream Man City XI if he lands three signings in January transfer window

It's practically impossible to predict what the January transfer window has in store for teams in the Premier League, but one thing is for sure: Pep Guardiola wants new signings. The Manchester City chief has already issued a call to arms in the wake of the champions' alarming collapse in form, with their chances of scooping an unprecedented fifth consecutive domestic crown already in tatters.
But the January transfer window is a notoriously tricky time to do business - particularly for a team with City's ambitions. It seems likely, though, that Guardiola and co will attempt to bring in some fresh faces in an attempt to kickstart their season.
It's said City have had their eye on as many as seven players ahead of the start of the January window, Mirror Football takes a look at how they could line up if Guardiola gets the new recruits he so desperately craves... In goal, nothing is likely to change for City: Ederson may have been replaced by Stefan Ortega for some fixtures recently, but it would be a major surprise if the club opted to try and bring another top quality goalkeeper to the Etihad.
While there are unlikely to be sweeping changes in the goalkeeping department, City have struggled defensively. Guardiola has specifically pinpointed central defence as an area where City need help, so a January swoop for the impressive Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace would make a whole lot of sense.
The England star looks primed for a move to a top club with Liverpool lurking. But City at their best are a different beast and the prospect of landing guaranteed major honours - albeit perhaps not this season - would surely appeal to Guehi. He would slot in nicely alongside Manuel Akanji with Josko Gvardiol and Kyle Walker operating as full-backs while City wait on others to return from injury.
