Phil Taylor is excited about his new venture after retiring from competitive darts. The Power, 64, who had been playing on the World Seniors Tour in recent years, finally called time on his illustrious playing career at the end of 2024 after undergoing hip surgery, having retired from PDC darts in 2018. He has now linked up with the MODUS Super Series, a rolling tournament featuring 104 matches per week over 50 weeks of the year.

It features up-and-coming players and legends of the game who don’t hold PDC Tour Cards. This week, the Super Series is holding the League of Legends event, with players like Steve Beaton and Simon Whitlock involved. The tournament is being streamed live by the Super Series’ new broadcast partner and title sponsor, Pluto TV, with Taylor working as a pundit for the League of Legends Finals Night on Saturday.

“I’m involved with Pluto TV, who are streaming all the stuff for MODUS. It’s a free live stream, and they play some of the old stuff too. My grandkids love it,” said Taylor as the tournament got under way. “I’m looking forward to seeing how Steve Beaton and Simon Whitlock get on. With the Super Series, it gives people the chance to earn a few bob and get match practice in.

“It won’t be easy for them. They’ll still have to play like they did when they were on the PDC Tour. It’ll be good practice and it’ll keep the players who want to get back on the Tour next year topped up. I know people who play in it and they love it. They’re doing a brilliant job with it. Supported by Pluto TV, it’s a great combination.”.
