Police are appealing for witnesses after a van driver fled the scene of a crash with a tram that killed a three-year-old girl in Manchester city centre.
Police said the driver of the van fled the scene and officers were “following several lines of inquiry to locate him”.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) said the collision occurred at 9.56am on Saturday between a van and a tram on Mosley Street.
“We attended the scene at Mosley Street this morning at 9.58am, responding with two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, two air ambulance crews and several senior clinicians.”.
