It came a very respectable 20th in the 2024 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best Awards for Beaches in Europe and was Tripadvisor’s best UK beach of 2024. There are a number of Blue Flag sections such as the beaches at Alum Chine, Durley Chine, Fisherman's Walk, Manor Steps, and Southbourne, all heralded for their safety and world-class water quality.
