Premier League Darts line-up verdict decided as Luke Humphries and Luke Littler await opponents

For the first time in some years, the Premier League Darts line-up is wide open. While the top four from the PDC's Order of Merit will get in automatically, the game's top brass are responsible for picking the other four contenders who join the annual roadshow.
Last year, the PDC produced a masterstroke by putting Luke Littler into the Premier League just one month after he shot onto the scene at the World Championship. Not only would he go on to play at his showboating best, he would end up winning the whole thing.
But this year, with Littler comfortably in the top four in the world, he will automatically get a place - and again big decisions will have to be made by the PDC management. The likes of Michael Smith, Gerwyn Price, Peter Wright and Gary Anderson - who have all competed in the Premier League Darts in years gone by - have tumbled down the world rankings and now have their places at risk.
The PDC will officially announce their line-up at some point in January following the end of the World Championship - and may even wait until after the revamped Masters - but in the meantime, we asked our trusty darts experts, who put together the comprehensive 48-page World Championship preview publication, who they think will get the nod following the end of the second round at Alexandra Palace...
Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Michael van Gerwen pick themselves...but then things get interesting. An early Rob Cross exit and a big run from Chris Dobey – the first of which has already happened the latter of which has every chance of happening – could see Hollywood nick the last automatic spot.
