A lucky Premium Bonds saver has won one of the top £1million prizes on their first-ever draw. Premium Bonds are a type of savings product run by National Savings & Investment (NS&I) but instead of earning interest, you're entered into a monthly prize draw. There are two £1million Premium Bond prizes given out every month.
One person from Gloucestershire certainly had luck on their side in the January 2025 draw, after she won one of these £1million jackpots with the bond number 601RW421962, which they only bought in November 2024. The January 2025 draw was the first one their bond was eligible for.

The second £1million prize in the January 2025 draw went to someone in Liverpool with the winning bond number 492XB861312. This person holds £37,025 in Premium Bonds, and they purchased their winning bond in March 2022.
Premium Bond prizes start at £25 and go up to £1million - but some months, you may not win anything at all. You get a unique bond number for every £1 invested, and the maximum you can have saved in Premium Bonds is £50,000. The odds of a bond winning each month are 22,000 to 1 for every £1 bond - but most prizes are for smaller amounts.
