Three easy tasks will 'heat your radiators up faster and make them feel hotter'

As the mercury dips into single digits, many dread the thought of a cold home during winter's peak. But what if your radiators are not up to the task?. There's good news: three simple steps can help sort the issue swiftly and keep your house cosy without causing your heating bill to suddenly jump in price. Many radiator glitches are often down to basic issues that can be sorted without having to call a plumber, according to an expert.
Zhelyazko Yanchev of Fantastic Services reveals: "There are plenty of ways to make radiators hotter, and heat up faster, without buying a new boiler and using expensive or specialist tools." He went on to say, "Hot water radiator systems are very simple and the problems are likely as simple, too.".
Here's three way you can give your radiators a helping hand:. 1. Tidy up around your radiators. The plumbing expert's first tip is one of the "fastest and cheapest way" to boost your radiator's performance - simply clear any objects in, on, or under them. Yanchev explains: “That's because radiators work on the principle that hot air rises by natural convection. Cold air is drawn up the radiator at the bottom and rises out warm at the top.”.
Items lying on or under the radiator can block this process, he warns, so keep those radiators clutter-free to ensure they do their job efficiently. Additionally, radiators require dusting to allow air to circulate through them freely. Large dust particles and lint can clog the radiator's centre, diminishing its efficiency.
