Summary at a Glance

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle staying in luxury £5,000-a-night suite ahead of Invictus Games Prince Harry will feel at home during his time in Canada as he is staying in one of the country's most luxurious hotels - complete with a crystal chandelier, a meditation pool and even its own 'Dirty Harry' cocktail.

The royal couple also paid visits to several other Fairmont properties in Canada, including the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, where Harry's late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and late grandfather Prince Philip also visited in 2005.

It is not known which suite Harry and Meghan are occupying, but the Chairman's Suite - which would be appropriate given Harry's role as founder of the Invictus Games and patron of its Foundation - is certainly fit for a prince.

Guests in the Chairman’s Suite are treated to a daily complimentary breakfast, made fresh to order, and are also given access to a daily canapé hour, prepared by the hotel's top savoury and pastry chefs, which bosses say "pair well with the wine menu and sunset hour".

During their 1939 Canadian tour, King George IV and Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, officially opened Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, which still operates not far from the newer Pacific Rim, which opened in 2010.
