Manchester City face failing to qualify from the Champions League league phase after squandering a 2-0 lead to lose to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday evening. Pep Guardiola's side were initially flying in the French capital after breaking the deadlock in the second-half through Jack Grealish, with Erling Haaland doubling his team's lead within two minutes.
But a quick fight-back from the hosts saw Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola find the back of the net before 10 minutes had passed, with Joao Neves providing the hammer blow in the 78th minute, before Goncalo Ramos scored deep in extra time. Defeat in Paris means that City have slipped into the relegation zone with just one match to play, and must beat Club Brugge in their final European game next week to have a hope of making the play-off round.
More to follow. Joao Neves helped Paris Saint-Germain swipe back victory from Manchester City in their Champions League clash. Achraf Hakimi thought he had been the player to break the first-half deadlock before his strike was ruled offside. Jack Grealish made an instant impact after coming off the bench in the second-half to score.
Erling Haaland doubled Manchester City's lead within two minutes on a wet night in the capital. But Ousmane Dembele was equally efficient in front of goal as he hit back within moments of the second goal. Young talent Bradly Barcola provided a lightning-quick leveller four minutes after the hosts got onto the scoresheet.
