It's fair to say that Neymar has endured a torturous 2024 on the pitch, but according to reports, he still received a staggering wage package from his club Al-Hilal. Recovering from a serious knee injury, Brazil's record goal scorer Neymar struggled for fitness, playing only two matches for the Saudi Pro League side before the end of the year.

In total, those two appearances yielded just 42 minutes of action for a player that Al-Hilal invested heavily in to bring to the division in the summer of 2023. Despite being at the club for 18 months now, he has still almost unbelievably only taken to the field on seven occasions, but that has not stopped him from banking his eye-watering wage package.

According to data from French outlet Foot Mercato, Neymar is believed to have been paid a whopping £84.6million (€101m) for his troubles in the whole of 2024. As a result of his injury-enforced inactivity last term, Neymar has seen his transfer value take a sizeable hit.

He had finished 2023 with a value of around £37m, meaning he is the sixth-highest player for transfer value decrease across 2024, as per Transfermarkt data.
