Richard Madeley shared a memory about the time he whipped up lunch for celebrity chef Jamie Oliver at his home. During Tuesday's (January 28) Good Morning Britain, Richard, aged 68, was speaking with fellow presenter Susanna Reid and Scottish TV personality Lorraine Kelly about her upcoming guests, when Jamie Oliver, 49, came up in the chat.
The moment took a funny turn when Richard recalled having to sternly tell the well-known chef off. He had invited Jamie over and found him repeatedly heading into the kitchen to help out with the meal prep. In the past, the GMB host has admitted that he has a passion for cooking and he clearly didn't take kindly to having interruptions while he was prepping food.
He recounted the memory, saying: "He came to lunch at our house a few years ago!" Lorraine couldn't help but react: "Oh for goodness, was that not a bit intimidating?" reports the Manchester Evening News. To which Richard confidently replied: "No, I'm not intimidated by him!" as Lorraine clarified: "But cooking for him I mean!" That caused Richard to share more: "He did keep coming into the kitchen and offering to help, I had to get quite blunt with him, 'out of my kitchen'.".
Lorraine, however, had a different viewpoint, suggesting to the ex-This Morning star: "Oh no, I would have just let him do it all." Then Susanna probed further, asking: "Did he eat everything that was offered?". Richard couldn't hide his joy as he answered: "Yes he did," leading his co-host to comment: "Oh good, that's the seal of approval," with Lorraine echoing: "Absolutely.".
