Ricki-Lee Coulter has revealed how she secretly lived in horrific pain for years while battling endometriosis. The 39-year-old tells the Daily Telegraph how even a simple run left her fearing she would end up in hospital. 'Going for a run, I'd be sometimes laying on the ground thinking I'm gonna have to call an ambulance because something is going on that's really crippling, and it's terrifying' she said.

'Or you'd be at the shops literally standing there against a shelf and not moving because you can't, you're in that much pain – it's those kinds of things that you're like, this isn't normal. 'We shouldn't just be made to feel like that's a normal thing.'. Ricki-Lee said that had she kept her condition private but went public because she hoped to help others. 'It's an interesting thing because I did toss up whether or not to talk about it because I just didn't want to be like "oh poor me" because there's so many people that have it worse than me,' she said. Rickie-Lee says she dealt with 'chronic unbearable pain' and had to put on a brave face and get back to work. 'I’m having to slap on a smile and be like "everything is fine, guys"' she said. 'I still have to go on stage and still have to do my job even when I can’t move because I’m in so much pain.'.

Endometriosis is a disease in which cells similar to the lining of the uterus grow outside the uterus - often on ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder or intestines. The singer underwent major surgery to treat the condition last year. In a touching message to fans Ricki-Lee revealed she had undergone treatment for endometriosis after suffering under the painful condition for over a decade. The Nova radio host included selfies in her post in which the brave singer can be seeing smiling and giving a 'thumbs up' to her fans.

The singer underwent major surgery to treat the condition last year. In her lengthy share Ricki-Lee said the recent procedure came after suffering chronic pain. 'Anyone with endometriosis knows it takes a long time to get to the point where you have surgery and can get any kind of diagnosis - and that you have to advocate for yourself and keep pushing for answers,' she said.

Ricki-Lee added that she finally underwent the surgery after dealing with the pain every day and her agony became unbearable. She said that it took many years of seeing specialists before she understood her condition. After receiving a diagnosis confirming it was endometriosis she said the 'only option left was surgery'. She continued: 'So this week I had a laparoscopy and excision surgery - and they removed all the endometriosis they found, and I can only hope that is the end of the pain.'.

Ricki-Lee ended her message by telling fans she is out of hospital and back with her husband Richard Harrison. 'I'm now at home recovering and feeling good. Rich is taking very good care of me,' she said adding several kisses. Many of Ricki-Lee's high profile friends were quick to send well wishes to the much loved performer. 'Rest up darling...prioritise yourself,' messaged pop star Tina Arena in the comments below the post.

'Bless you. Rest up. No more pain,' added Danni Minogue. 'Sending you so much love,' commented radio star Jackie 'O' Henderson, before adding, 'Been where you are now and it gets so much better honey.'. Seven's Larry Emdur also sent his regards. 'Feel better soon, sending you big hugs,' he wrote. Rickie-Lee says she dealt with 'chronic unbearable pain' and had to put on a brave face and get back to work.
