Ruben Amorim says his decision to exile Marcus Rashford is "not personal" - but has warned the striker he must change to have a future at Manchester United. Rashford has not featured in United's last 12 games and was not part of the 21-man squad that flew to Bucharest for Thursday night's final Europa League group game against FCSB.

The 27-year-old striker is exploring options for a loan move before Monday's transfer deadline, with Barcelona his favoured option, although he will have to take a hit on his £315,000-a-week wages for that move to happen. But Amorim insisted the only reason Rashford continues to be omitted is because he is not training well enough - rather than because of a fall-out between the pair.

"With our team and the profile of the players, imagine with a talent like Rashford, our team should be so much better," said Rashford. "But he has to change. "If he changes, we will use a talent like Rashford, but at this moment we have to set some standards. We are waiting for Marcus if he wants it really badly. It’s not personal against Marcus - I have to make the same rules for everybody.

"It's the same for any player. Rashford is not selected, that is my choice. He's training, he's not good enough, that's what I tell you. "The situation is the same for every player. I talked about it in the last game. My sentence was that I will not put any player on the pitch who does not give the maximum. I did not say [just] Marcus.
