Ruben Amorim makes Rasmus Hojlund feelings clear amid Man Utd star's ongoing goal drought

Ruben Amorim believes Rasmus Hojlund’s struggles in front of goal are a symptom of Manchester United ’s wider struggles rather than an issue specific to the out of form striker. Danish centre forward Hojlund has scored only two Premier League goals in 16 appearances thus far and looks badly short of confidence.
But speaking ahead of United’s meeting with Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford, Amorim has played down any concern about his individual performances and the Portuguese head coach instead chose to point to the entire squad’s struggles. "I think it's a team problem,” Amorim said. “You can see it. It's not just from now, it's from the past. So we have, clearly, a lack of goals and a lack of threat. When you threaten the opponents, the opponents maybe don't press you so high. So everything is connected.
"All the players have moments in this season. I think when we started this journey together, Rasmus was the player that was always scoring. So he can come back in the next game, we will see.". United entered this weekend’s round of fixtures 12th place in the Premier League table and with only 26 goals scored from 21 fixtures.
The midweek comeback against basement side Southampton, with Amad scoring a 12-minute hat-trick to earn a 3-1 win, has also failed to ease concerns around the squad’s consistency. Several members of the squad, headlined by Marcus Rashford, are also being linked with moves away from the club in the January transfer window.
