Ryan Reynolds is set to purchase a stake in Colombian team Equidad FC as part of a £11.8 million takeover. Reynolds, 48, could possibly be the most famous and loved football owner on the planet ever since he and Rob McElhenney purchased Wrexham in 2020. Their premiership has not only yielded the extremely popular docu-series 'Welcome to Wrexham', it has also seen the former National League side enjoy two consecutive promotions into League One.

Now the Red Dragons are on their way to finishing in the play-off places, which would give them the opportunity to gain promotion into the Championship. While the oldest club in Wales are riding on a Hollywood wave, Reynolds is reportedly set to invest in Equidad, who are currently 13th in the Categoria Primera A division in Colombia.

As part of the Tylis-Porter investment group, which also features the likes of baseball megastar Justin Verlander and former Arsenal and Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil, Reynolds is set to invest in the club alongside Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria.

The Bogota based side wrote on their Twitter page: "The presentation of the new owners of Equidad (@equidadfutbol) will be in January. Famous investors from the TYLIS-PORTER group like EVA LONGORIA, RYAN REYNOLDS, and JUSTIN VERLANDER (baseball player) will be in Bogotá, the team's headquarters. Carlos Zuluaga will continue as president indefinitely.".
