Selena Gomez has received strong support from Flavor Flav after she tearfully expressed her feelings about President Donald Trump's mass deportations of undocumented immigrants in a video that has since been removed. The 32-year-old actress was visibly upset on camera, expressing her sense of helplessness over the harsh policy that Trump had campaigned on ahead of the 2024 election. Despite facing significant backlash for the video, with some critics labelling her as 'shallow' and 'narcissistic,' hip hop artist Flavor Flav, 65, has come to her defence.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday night, the artist, whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr, stated: "Team Selena Gomez. Again. That woman is always so brave to share her truth... and so many are quick to bully her.". Following his supportive message, many social media users have praised Flavor Flav for 'recognising Selena's strength' and 'standing up for her against negativity.' One said: "Flavor Flav never shy away from speaking his mind. Respect.".
Another echoed this sentiment, writing: "Flavor Flav always knows how to support his friends! It's great to see stars lifting each other up.". A third commented: "As a proud Selenator, it's heartwarming to see Flavor Flav recognise Selena's strength and openness about her health and mental health." A fourth added: "It's great to see Flavor Flav showing support for Selena Gomez. She's been through a lot, and it's good to see public figures standing up for each other against negativity.".
