Silent Witness season 28 has made a triumphant return to BBC One, continuing its tradition of presenting gripping narratives split into two parts. The third instalment of the season, titled 'Broken', airs its first part on January 20, with the second part set to air on January 21.
The discovery of a woman's hand in a canal sets the Lyell team on a quest to locate the rest of her body. Concurrently, Nikki Alexander (portrayed by Emilia Fox) finds herself delving into the world of criminal justice. In another storyline, the wife of a barrister who vanished two years ago while being tormented by a client receives another body part in the mail. The regular cast members will be back, joined by newcomers Maggie Steed as Harriet and Francesca Mills as Kit.
Here's a rundown of the guest cast for this episode and where you might have seen them before. Kerrie Hayes, a 38 year old actress hailing from Liverpool, is one of five siblings. She made her television debut in the BBC drama Lilies, playing Ruby Moss.
Audiences may also recognise her from Holby City, Inspector George Gently, and Brighton Rock. David Angland, a graduate of the RADA Youth Company in 2014, has appeared in The Devil's Hour, Pistol, and Everything Now. Abdul Sulaiman, an actor from South London, recently made a guest appearance in The Crown season five. His other credits include Supacell, The A-List, and Witness Number 3.
