Southern Charm star Thomas Ravenel announces he is running for South Carolina governor Thomas Ravenel of Southern Charm fame has announced that he plans to run for governor of South Carolina.
The 62-year-old former reality television star took to X on Thursday to share his gubernatorial goal with his 86,000 followers.
Ravenel was formerly South Carolina state treasurer and appeared on the first five seasons of the Bravo TV series.
'I’m running for Governor of South Carolina and none of the lightweights currently in the race are going to stop me.
In 2004 he ran for a seat in the U.S. Senate in 2004, and was fined nearly $20,000 by the Federal Election Commission when he failed to log his personal campaign spending by the deadline, per a WIS News 10 report.
