Microsoft’s biggest IP is going multiplatform according to an insider, as more leaks about third party support for the Nintendo Switch 2. Leaks around Nintendo’s next console have accelerated to a daily occurrence over the past month and while this has been predominantly concerned with the hardware, more information has started to emerge about Switch 2 software as well.

Some third party games have seemingly been outed via a French retailer, with Tekken 8 and Red Dead Redemption 2 both touted as potential launch titles, but it seems Microsoft might also be planning to support the console in a significant capacity. Microsoft has already strongly pivoted towards multi-platform releases, with Indiana Jones And The Great Circle and Doom: The Dark Ages set to come to PlayStation 5 this year, but an insider claims Halo: The Master Chief Collection is also planned for various platforms, including Switch 2.

Speaking on his podcast, insider NateTheHate, who was key in outing Xbox’s multi-platform plans last year, claimed he has ‘heard’ Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator (he doesn’t specify which game, but presumably 2024) will both come to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025.

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer recently said there are no ‘red lines’ when it comes to putting first party games on other formats, opening the possibility for Halo coming to other consoles, but it will still be a significant announcement if it does turn out to be true.
