Stan announces exciting new Original series The Hack starring David Tennant, Robert Carlyle and Toby Jones

Streaming service Stan has announced its new Original series The Hack. The show, co-commissioned with ITV, is a seven-part drama which tells the story of the phone hacking scandal that led to the closure of the UK's best-selling newspaper. The series 'interweaves two real life stories' as investigative journalist Nick Davies, played by David Tennant, uncovers the scandal at the News of the World.
It also follows former Met Police Detective Chief Superintendent Dave Cook, played by Robert Carlyle, who is investigating an unsolved murder. Also starring in the series is Toby Jones, who plays former Editor-in Chief of The Guardian, Alan Rusbridger.
The cast also includes Rose Leslie, Dougray Scott, Eve Myles, Adrian Lester, Kevin Doyle, Katherine Kelly, Neil Maskell, Lara Pulver, Lee Ingleby and Pip Torrens. Streaming service Stan has announced its new Original series The Hack. Pictured actor David Tennant.
Nadia Albina, Lisa McGrillis, Sean Pertwee, Robert Bathurst, Richard Pepple, Ace Bhatti, Phil Davis, Charlie Brooks and Steve Pemberton will also be starring on the show. The series has been written by BAFTA, Tony and Olivier award winning screenwriter Jack Thorne.
It has been directed by BAFTA award winning director Lewis Arnold and is executive produced by BAFTA and RTS award winning Patrick Spence. 'The Hack is a timely and impactful series that underscores Stan's commitment to bringing high-quality and thought-provoking content to our audiences, together with our partners at ITV, alongside Jack, Lewis, Patrick, Jo and Abi,' Stan Chief Content Officer Cailah Scobie said.
