Stephen Mulhern shouted at a stunned Royal Variety Show audience member on Sunday in the middle of his performance. The presenter, 47, was making a touching tribute to his late father Christopher, as well as his grandfather when he yelled out to the crowd, singling out one guest in particular.
During the ITV show, the host of Deal Or No Deal performed a small magic trick for viewers but things took an awkward turn when he enlisted the help of one member of the audience. The show, hosted this year by Amanda Holden and Alan Carr, included a host of different acts who performed for King Charles III.
Before starting his magic show, Stephen explained that he had a confetti detonator and he needed a special person to set it off whenever he did anything funny. He said: 'I need to show you this, this here is a detonator. Now, let me tell you, when you press this button here, it changes the entire show.

After Adam's poor assistance with the trick Stephen ran over to the audience member shouting: 'Stop this! before yanking him out of his seat and pushing him off stage. 'It sets off fireworks, it changes the lighting, it changes the music. 'So, we need somebody very responsible to look after this!' Heading off into the crowd, Stephen walked around until he found the ideal candidate to look after the detonator.'.
