TV personality Stephen Mulhern has made his first social media post of the new year a positive one. The Dancing on Ice presenter, 47, had a difficult last few months of 2024 after the loss of his father, Christopher, and a hospital stay when he ‘reacted badly’ to a few drinks during a dinner out.
Now he has taken to Instagram, where he told his 766,000 followers to ‘look after each other’ as he wished them a Happy New Year. ‘Here’s to a year where we look after each other and make wonderful memories. Hope it’s the best 2025 for us all! Happy New Year, everyone! x’, he wrote.
The message accompanied an AI-generated video of multiple mother birds shielding their babies from rain, seemingly reiterating his comment about looking after each other. Fans were quick to comment on the video, sharing their support and well wishes for the Deal Or No Deal star. ‘Happy New Year Stevie. I hope you get all the happiness and love you deserve this year’, @ant.decfangirl wrote.
@michelecorston added: ‘Happy New Year Stephen, stay healthy and strong, sending you lots of love’. ‘Happy New Year Stephen and keep strong x’, @dawnflounders commented under the video. Cheryl Spilsbury also said: ‘Happy New Year to you, such a lovely person who deserves the best’.
The TV host ended up in hospital in November last year after an ambulance was called by concerned staff at the restaurant he was dining at. A statement to Metro read: ‘Stephen has had an incredibly tough time over the past few weeks. His beloved father recently passed away which has hit him hard and has been understandably very stressful.
