The stars of Strictly Come Dancing were full of smiles as they arrived back at their hotel after the first night of the live tour. Leading those who were performing in Birmingham as the live show began their slew of dates across the country, was head judge Shirley Ballas. The 64-year-old looked delighted as she arrived by taxi at the hotel, dressed in a black and white striped blouse.
Joining her with a striped outfit was dancer Karen Hauer who wore a long black coat as she braved the winter night in Birmingham to be part of the sell out show. Others were also smiling on the first night with Janette Manrara looking relaxed. At the end of the night, professional dancer Jowita Przystal looked happy to be at her hotel after a high-energy performance.
The Glitterball Trophy winner, Dianne Buswell, was keeping warm in a long comfortable coat. Strictly fans were disappointed that her celebrity dance partner, comedian Chris McCausland, will not be joining the tour, the first champion to not go on the live tour.
Chris was also in the Birmingham area last night as his stand-up tour arrived at Walsall Arena and he had revealed previously the reason why he has skipped the Strictly tour. He had said: "I'm afraid I will not be able to do the Strictly tour. My own tour was meant to be on the road in September and a lot of dates were moved to Jan and Feb to accommodate doing #Strictly. It's unfortunate as it's been so much fun, but my own dates can't be moved for a second time.".
