The would-be assassin had rocked up to the retail park in a stolen Ford Kuga with fellow thug Tyjon Cogger, 22.
Saabir Mohamed, 26, was captured peppering the victim with bullets in Smethwick, West Midlands.
Once they discovered him in the Farmfoods car park, Mohamed used a sawn-off shotgun to blast the man in the leg.
