Which are the best broadband providers in the UK? We asked 1,000 Telegraph readers to rate theirs for speed, price and customer service. Copy link. twitter. facebook. whatsapp. There are now more than 200 internet service providers in the UK, from familiar names like BT, Sky and Virgin to challengers like Now and HyperOptic. Shopping for the best broadband provider can feel a little overwhelming. But it’s simpler than it first appears.

In most cases, the actual cables with which companies deliver broadband to your house are the same, laid down by Openreach. If you switch broadband providers, your physical connection will often remain the same and companies instead compete on extras such as phone lines and TV packages, as well as on pricing. So which is the best internet provider?.

We surveyed our readers, asking them to rate value, reliability, customer service, download speeds and the quality of customer support. Best overall, 9 out of 10. Plans from £25 per month (rising to £28pm on April 1 2025 and £31pm on April 1 2026). Vodafone is Britain’s longest-running mobile phone network, having placed its first call in 1985. Despite this, it was a relatively late arrival in Britain’s broadband market. Vodafone has since developed a reputation for aggressively priced packages and high speeds. In our survey, it was the highest-ranked provider for speed (with 88 percent Good or Very Good ratings), reliability (90 percent G/VG) and price (71 percent G/VG). Here are the full scores:.
