The Traitors slammed as fans spot major flaw in ‘abysmal’ challenge

Quite a few people on this year’s series of The Traitors are keeping secrets from their fellow cast members – and now, one of them has been exposed. At the very start of the BBC show, Lisa Coupland, 62, revealed that she was keeping a big part of her life concealed from the other players.

In the real world, Lisa is an ordained Anglican priest… but up until last night’s episode, she had decided not to reveal her profession. However, after arousing suspicion from other contestants as a possible Traitor, and being questioned why she used the phrase ‘With God as my witness,’ she felt that it was time to come clean.

After gathering several people in one room, she announced: ‘I need to tell you all something. A lot of people have questioned the reason why I said “As God as my witness,” ok. I am an ordained Anglican priest.’. At this statement, Linda Rands, 70, reacted with her mouth agape, as Lisa continued: ‘I’m ordained, and I would never, ever take God’s name in vain.’.

Some of the contestants looked like they were in a state of confusion mixed with shock, as one thanked Lisa for being open with them. She then explained that the oath she took as a priest means that she ‘cannot deceive’ and she ‘cannot be treacherous’… two things that could prove extremely difficult when playing The Traitors.
