The Traitors star Alex addresses rumours he’s related to another contestant on the hit show

The Traitors contestant Alex, who was banished after he was suspected of being a Traitor on Thursday 16 January, has spoken about rumours he could be fellow player Lisa’s son. Appearing on The Traitors: Uncloaked after the latest episode where he was voted out at the round table, care manager Alex, 29, talked about his close friendships with Lisa and Frankie on the show. Presenter Ed Gamble then asked Alex about the rumours going around on social media that Anglican priest Lisa, 62, is actually his mum, which received a laugh from the assembled guests, including celebrity guest Chris McCausland.
Alex said: “I received a text from my sister saying ‘why do you look more like the priest on The Traitors than our mum,’ and it is so true! I looked at us and wondered if there had been a swap in the hospital somewhere – we need the DNA testing done now!”.
Alex and Lisa did form a close bond during the series, with one of their sweetest moments together captured on camera before they both headed to the round table where Alex would be voted off. Lisa spoke to him in the corridor of the castle and told him: “I want you to know that I love you and you’re one of the best people I have ever met.”.
She was devastated when Alex left after revealing he was a Faithful, and told her fellow players: "I am so sad he's gone and I genuinely don't think he deserved that. I couldn't vote for Alex because I knew it wasn't true. Of all the people here, he was the only one I was 90% sure.".
On the spin-off show, Alex revealed that he and Lisa have kept in touch following The Traitors and both she and Traitors fan favourite Linda attended his wedding. “We came up with this elaborate back story about how I knew them,” he explained, as his wedding took place last September before anyone knew they had filmed The Traitors. “We had this whole story and I think we were all feeling really nervous that someone was going to ask about it, and nobody ever asked!”.
