WITH the UK still facing cold weather, it's no surprise most of us are bundled up under our puffer jacks. They're a lifesaver at keeping us toasty during the winter months but can be tricky to clean. Fortunately, a man has shared his tips and tricks for cleaning his North Face puffer coat without ruining the stuffing of it.

He said you first want to turn the coat inside out and do up all of the zips. Jack then used a mild detergent and a laundry sanitiser to wash the jacket on a low and delicate wash cycle. Once done, you can then put it in the tumble dryer on a low temperature.

Crucially, you need to add dryer balls to the cycle to help to keep your jacket puffy and re-distribute the filling. Jack added: "I'm going to check it every 15 minutes and give it a good shake.". For those without a tumble dryer, Jack said you can still give it a wash but the drying process would take much longer.

"You could line dry it, just make sure you’re constantly giving it a really generous shake every 20-30mins. It will take A LOT longer to dry, but it can be done," he explained. Once the dryer cycle has finished, take your jacket out and shake it again, making sure it's fully dry before you wear it again as it can cause the stuffing to go mouldy.

Jack added in the caption that this simple guide is enough to make your puffer look 'as good as new'. The black material the coat is made from is often difficult to keep clean. Almost any stain shows up on it, but one makeup artist has revealed the simple hacks to prevent stains and get them out.
