Two fisherman and their dog ended up sailing straight into a tornado on their small boat – and survived. Brian Johnson, his friend and his dog were on a small fishing boat in Winne, Texas, on Saturday when they encountered strong winds.
Footage shows them cruising along the water when the skies suddenly darken. As the men scramble to layer themselves with more clothing, the winds continue to strengthen and rain begins to pour. The pair were forced to hunch themselves over as the wind picked up sea spray and rocked the boat side-to-side.
They can be heard saying: ‘If you do down, I’m going down with you brother.’. After they were able to escape the tornado, Brian said: ‘We were fishing and got caught up in a tornado. ‘We went through the eye of the storm yet by His Grace, God delivered us.’.
The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-3 tornado struck near Highway 124 in Chambers County. One person was injured, and the winds were so strong multiple utility poles were snapped. Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@metro.co.uk.
