Prince Andrew is back in the spotlight thanks to his connections to an alleged Chinese spy - the latest furore to engulf the beleaguered royal. Andrew found himself making headlines once again this week over his relationship with Yang Tengbo, plunging Buckingham Palace into yet another crisis amid allegations he was targeted and courted over a number of years.

It has once again raised questions about Andrew's role within the royal family - and his position going forward. A number of critics are also questioning why he still resides at the grand 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor, occupied by just Andrew and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

It's known that King Charles is putting pressure on his brother to vacate the property in terms of something smaller and less ostentatious. Furthermore, it was reported earlier this year that Charles cut off the £1m annual allowance Andrew used to get from the late Queen, leading many to question how the disgraced duke will afford the up-keep on the vast property.

But it seems Sarah might be the reason Andrew remains in residence. For many years, there have been rumours circulating that Andrew could be poised to write a tell-all book about his life - similar to Prince Harry's bestselling memoir Spare. The Duke of York's insight into the innermost goings on of the House of Windsor would certainly be unparalleled, but one royal expert - author Andrew Lownie - doesn't think that it's likely the Duke will break his silence, despite how much he knows.

"There have long been rumours that Andrew might write a book, and various collaborators have been suggested, but I think it is very unlikely. Andrew is loyal to the institution and knows it would impact his daughters and their position within the Royal Family ," Lownie told the Mail Online.
