Timothée Chalamet has said "I'm the hardest working man", after opening up about a major sacrifice he made for Bob Dylan's upcoming biopic. Chalamet plays the legendary musician in A Complete Unknown, which premieres in UK cinemas on January 17. The drama follows Dylan's rise to fame in the 1960s and explores his controversial use of electric instruments.

The 28-year-old appeared on comedian Theo Von's podcast, This Last Weekend, and delved into his five-year preparation for the role. During the 90-minute chat, Oscar-nominated Chalamet gave insight into the film's three-month production period, in which he took on a style of method acting he dubbed "method energy.".

As the duo discussed Chalamet's approach to his other biographical drama Marty Supreme, in which he portrays ping pong star Marty Reisman, Von quizzed him on the biggest challenge of playing Bob Dylan. Chalamet replied: "The biggest journey was the music and the voice and also I've never had my phone off the entire movie.".

He continued, explaining why the sacrifice was necessary: "I had three months to play this guy and the rest of my life I would never get to play him again. So I was locked in. "Also, you're never supposed to say you're competitive, but you know there's been a lot of music biopics and I wanted to do a great f****** job man, I love Bob Dylan. I love this artist; none of this is for granted.
