New research suggests that most people are planning to take their main holiday in June this year, ideally for a duration of 10 days. A survey involving 2,000 adults revealed that a third will opt for a holiday in Britain, often due to financial considerations. According to the study by hotel chain Travelodge, one in four individuals plan to spend more on holidays this year, with an average expenditure of £1,449 on their main break.

Over a quarter of participants stated that they wouldn't compromise on a holiday, and more than half expressed their willingness to shell out more for sustainable and responsible travel options in 2025. The majority indicated that their main holiday would be in June, lasting 10 days. A spokesperson from Travelodge commented: "We are seeing a broad spectrum of curiosity in UK travel with location and value continuing to top the list as the most important factors.".

Three-fifths of respondents confirmed they would be taking a holiday this year, with one-third of the 2,000 surveyed choosing a UK break. Two-fifths of those planning a UK holiday cited the desire to avoid the stress of overseas travel. One in four participants said they intended to spend more on holidays in 2025 compared to the previous year.
