Emergency services took all three to hospital. The woman is understood to have suffered a "minor injury" and the children were taken "as a precaution". Leicestershire Police are still hunting the blue BMW after the driver fled the scene. There are still road closures in place while investigations continue.

A spokesperson from Leicestershire police said: "Shortly after 4.40pm today a pursuit was authorised in relation to a car that failed to stop for police close to the junction of Narborough Road and Upperton Road, Leicester. "As the officer driving the police vehicle attempted to pursue the car – a blue BMW – the police vehicle collided with three pedestrians.

"East Midlands Ambulance Service attended and a woman in her 30s and two children aged 10 were assessed at the scene. "The woman is believed to have suffered a minor injury. They have all been taken to hospital as a precaution. "The blue BMW that failed to stop made off from the area. Enquiries are ongoing in relation to this.
