Manchester United beat Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage on Sunday, with a deflected long-range strike from Lisandro Martinez earning the Red Devils all three points. Martinez's effort took a big deflection off Sasa Lukic and looped over Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno. Neither side had created many clear-cut chances up until that point, with the goal United's first effort on target, but the visitors were delighted with the win.

There was some late drama as Toby Collyer cleared a goalbound header from Joachim Andersen off the line and Amad had a goal disallowed for offside. And having beaten Rangers 2-1 in the Europa League on Thursday, United will now be hoping they can continue their winning ways when they take on Steaua Bucharest and Crystal Palace next week.

Here are five talking points from Craven Cottage... Despite Manchester United's struggles in the post Sir Alex Ferguson era, they have actually not lost a game at Craven Cottage since 2009 when Ferguson's side were beaten 3-0 by Roy Hodgson's Fulham. They came into this game unbeaten in their last eight trips to Craven Cottage, having won their last seven, and that record continued on Sunday. It was not the most impressive performance from United, but they will be happy to have come away with all three points having lost four of their previous six league games.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana also kept a much-needed clean sheet, with United having only kept on in their last 16 games across all competitions. Lisandro Martinez was the unlikely hero for United as he scored what was just his third goal since joining the club from Ajax back in 2022.
